Layer Solar iDNO Substation – Commissioning Works

Layer Solar is a 132kV connected 49.9MW Solar Farm connected to UKPN’s Network at Abberton Grid.

Scope of Works
Valen Power Engineering were contracted by Ethical Power Connections to Commission the Electrical Apparatus to be adopted by Eclipse Power Networks facilitating the connection of a new 49.9MW Solar PV Power Park
The Project incorporated the following: -
Air Insulated 132kV Switchgear Compound
1x 132/33kV 60MVA Transformer
33kV Siemens NXPLUS Switchboard

Equipment & Services
All Primary Testing for the 132kV Switchgear, 132/33kV Transformer and 33kV Switchgear
Functional Check & Secondary Injection of all Protection Schemes associated with the Substation
Sheath testing, sheath fault location and repair on 132kV Cable
Commissioning of iDNO apparatus within UKPN S/S
Provision of Senior Authorised Persons and HV Safety Rules for Energisation and full liaison with UKPN
